Summer time at Lough Owel Lodge  b&b Mullingar.

I now know the name of this rose in the garden  thanks to a kind guest Rebecca Jeffares who told me that this is a pink rose with a stripe called Vorsicolor rose

“Rosa Gallica”  .

Two very nice gentlemen stayed with us  for a few days at Lough Owel Lodge b&b Mullingar  a few years ago. They went to all the local gardens in the area.one evening they arrived back with this lovely rose as a gift.

I planted it so our guests can see it as they sit in the lounge. it is very much admired and gives us great colour

Lough owel Lodge a homely b&b.

You won’t get more homely than this beautifully located farm overlooking Lough Owel, which has been certified organic since 2011. On arrival, you’ll pass the family’s donkeys, Sonny and Cher, in their paddock and their
gentle presence sets the tone for a comfortable family home where guests feel genuinely welcome. Don’t expect five star accommodation here, what’s special is the authentic rural experience that  we  offer, including our  own organic produce on the table for breakfast. We offer a wide choice for breakfast along with home baking which often includes scones muffin and seasonal fruit

Our farmhouse accommodation is a great place to base yourself for a few days and enjoy the many attractions in the area.Belvedere house and gardens is a lovely destination and has many wooded walks to enjoy.

We are rightly proud of this fascinating Lakeland area and love introducing guests to its highlights and the ‘real Ireland.’ A great place to wind down and get close to nature.
