Welcome to Lough Owel Lodge Mullingar
Come and stay at Martin and Aideen’s Lough Owel Lodge Bed and Breakfast on their organic farm beside the lake, Lough Owel. It is just five minutes’ drive from the market town of Mullingar, Co Westmeath an hour from Dublin. You can meet the animals on the farm in particular Sonny and Cher our resident donkeys as you walk through the idyllic farmland to the shore of the lake where you can watch the sailing boats. Trees and sky will fill your eyes and feed your soul, as Aideen’s home-produce will feed your body.
This is a family home for three generations . The house started life as a thatch cottage and has developed over the years
Our home is open from April to October.
Things to Do at Lough Owel Lodge b&B
Enjoy a game of tennis (rackets are available), table tennis in our games room or finish the day by taking one of the several gentle walks in the area. Information and maps can be provided. Drying facilities for guest’s walking gear are available. Game or course fishing can be arranged in the area with gillies and boat hire available. Packed lunches can be arranged, just book beforehand. We have lots more places of interest near to Lough Owel Lodge.

Better still if you send us the information we need before your stay, we can have it ready on your arrival so that all you have to do is relax, eat, enjoy our beautiful lakeside surrounds and check out places of interest highlighted by our initial assessment report. Where to visit from Lough Owel Lodge
Lough Owel Lodge is just 10 minutes from Belvedere House and Gardens. We are 30 minutes from Locks Distillery which is the oldest distillery in the world. The Tullamore Dew museum is also a short drive away. We are within an hour’s drive of many of Ireland’s historical sites such as Fore Abbey, Lough Crew Cairns, Trim castle, Newgrange, Clonmacnoise and Strokes Town Famine Museum.
The bustling city of Dublin can be reached by car in a little over one hour or it is possible to take a train from Mullingar which will take you directly into the city centre and which will allow you to enjoy the countryside along the way.
